The translation class is meant to dialogue
with the Grammars of English and English Writing Skills classes. It will
primarily consist in (1) the analysis of various types of translation from
French (and possibly other languages) into English and (2) the production of
short translations that will allow students to demonstrate their skills in
English, bearing in mind issues pertaining to linguistic variation, register,
context and social norms.
